Increase virtual memoryVirtual memory is a computer process that gives users and applications access to more functional memory – even more memory than the computer actually has. In hardware terms, computers are equipped with a certain amount of RAM – Random Access Memory – usually 64 or 128 MB. Virtual Memory Transfer Each running program requires a particular amount of RAM and once the RAM is exhausted the computer wouldn’t be able to perform any additional functions. In order to allow computers to run multiple programs, virtual memory transfers some program details from RAM to the hard drive, making more RAM available for other programs, thus creating virtual memory. By keeping the non-active parts of running programs on the hard drive each program requires less RAM, and allows the computer to perceive more RAM for more programs. When running Windows, you might receive an error message saying that Your system is low in virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file. This setting tells the operating system how much virtual memory can be used once you have run out of RAM.
