Agent BLU Trojan

The Agent BLU Trojan Application is a Trojan-Downloader worm affecting Windows Operating Systems

Like other backdoor generator toolkit, the Agent BLU application can access the Internet and communicate with a remote Web server via hypertext transfer protocol. Through these actions, it can download and run additional code or malware that may further harm the computer. It also has many hidden functionalities that may include:

• hacking;
• data mining;
• and remote access tools.

Though it has only low-high range level of prevalence, the Agent BLU program has a high security risk level. This is because it can copy keystrokes and establish a backdoor program to allow remote influence on the computer. Through these abilities, it can disable programs, usually anti-virus or computer security programs. It performs these actions even without instructions from an intruder.

Also known as Backdoor-CFK, this Trojan Downloader duplicates itself to <System>\win32ocx\Win32Sysmc.ex when first run and then creates a registry entry to run Win32Sysmc.exe upon starting the computer. It can spread via network shares with weak passwords, MS-QL servers and through different vulnerabilities of an operating system.

The program takes care of the installation and running of the malware on the host computer without user consent. It can also be used in exploitating a computer security flaw, disabling computer systems and programs as well as distributing other threats.

Many hackers use this worm to gain control of a host computer. With its abilities, remote users can upload and download files, terminate computer process, and close Windows applications. It can also generate a registry that starts the Trojan whenever the computer is booted.

A computer may contain a possible infection of this malware if it shuts down or starts up intermittently for no reason or if an application is not running when it should be.
